Making friends.

Social skills do not come naturally for everyone. Combining speech therapy sessions with group activities and "real life" situtations is the perfect mix for helping children learn those important social skills for making and keeping friends. Sometimes kids are resistant to approach other kids their age. At the VYV camp, your child will have tons of opportunities to initiate and maintain conversations in a natural setting (with a little guidance from their camp counselor)... opportunities they would not have in traditional therapy. "Wow! You found a giant salamander!! Let's go show it to Dylan! You can tell him where you found it. Maybe you can both look for some more." We offer a combination of specific instructions, modeling, role-playing activities and REAL WORLD practice! Call today to hear more about how the UT Volunteer Your Voice Summer Camp can help.
